If you pay full price, you are an idiot.
I got a very informative email from godaddy today telling me if I spend 50 dollars or more I can save 10% thanks to their special email offer. You may think thats a pretty good deal but its not. There are hundreds of coupons floating around the web to get you all sorts of deals. This post focus’s on Godaddy because thats who I use but almost every hosting company has them.
Godaddy makes deals with people noteably podcasts and gives them codes to get their users a better deal and the podcast earns money each time that code is used. The codes listed below are from the Geekbrief Podcast there are other codes that support other people, so if you are a fan of a certain show, see if they have their own godaddy codes, I just use thes cause they are easy to remember, there are more codes that give different types of deals but none have ever been a better deal then the ones below for what I need.
Also every now and then Ill find a 20% off coupon but those expire pretty quick, so if you find one please leave a comment quick so everyone can benefit from it.
GB1 - Save an additional 10% off any order
GB2 - Save an additional $5 off an order of $30 or more
GB3 - Get your .com for $6.95/year
Note: If you’re registering or renewing a .net or .tv or anything but .com, use GB1 or GB2
So next time you go to godaddy or your hosting provider of choice please dont be an idiot and pay full price.

If you use the discount domain club you get free privacy. The rates are lower than the published rates but higher than the coupon rates, but if you want privacy it ends up costing less to do the club.
